Dr Evelyn Hovenga and Heather Grain’s paper was anounced as one of the top 6 papers at this year’s International Medical Informatics Conference – MedInfo held in Sao Paulo in Brazil. The paper is titled “An Information Paradigm Shift is Required to Realise EHR Benefits”. It’s published in the Medinfo2015 Proceedings.

eHE has joined the not for profit organisation Global eHealth Collaborative (www.gehco.org) and will be contributing to national and international projects in collaboration with other eHealth organisations.
Heather Grain presented a webinar to an audience of over 30 attendees from South America which was hosted by HL7 Brazil. The lecture included an introduction to SNOMED CT and the relationship to information models and the Clinical Knowledge Manager as well as an update on the HL7 Terminology Authority processes and practices for Affilliates and Working Groups. The presentation was taped and will be made available by HL7 Brazil.

The Board of CHIA met following the HIC14 conference in Melbourne. The Board includes members of ACHI (Australasian College of Health Informatics), HISA and HIMAA. Quality control processes for certification examination are now in development. H. Grain of EHE is a member of the certification Board.
